Charitable Events - Spreading Joy and Hope
At Kids Connect Africa, giving back to the community has always been at the heart of our mission. Over the years, we’ve organized a variety of charitable events, each designed to uplift and support vulnerable children, families, and communities. From Christmas celebrations to heartfelt donations, our goal is to inspire hope and foster a sense of solidarity.
As we continue to grow, our events have expanded in scope, reaching more children and families across different regions. Below, you can read about some of the impactful charitable events we've organized and the positive change they've brought to the lives of many.
KCA Christmas Bus Tour (December 23, 2020 - now)
In 2020, we took our Christmas tradition to the next level with a bus tour across Abidjan, visiting hospitals and orphanages that needed a little extra holiday cheer. It has since become a yearly tradition !
Where We Went:
Abidjan Cardiology Institute (Treichville)
Marie-Thérèse Nursery (Adjamé)
Orphanage La Main Tendue (Angré)
Angré University Hospital (Angré)
Foyer Akwaba (Abobo)
What Happened:
We reached over 500 children, handing out clothing, food, and gifts. The day wasn’t just about what we gave – it was the conversations, the smiles, and the connections that made it so special. We were reminded that even the smallest act of kindness can have a lasting impact, no matter how old you are.
KCA Christmas Tree Event (December 23, 2019)
2019 marked a big step for our annual Christmas celebration. What started as a small event in 2018 for 60 children, grew to include 250-300 children from the local community.
Where It Happened:
Akouedo, Abidjan (where KCA’s headquarters is located)
What Happened: We set up a Christmas tree and invited children, parents, and families from the neighborhood to join us. There were gifts, laughter, and plenty of joy shared among everyone. It was a day that brought warmth to more than just the hearts of children – it reminded us all of the power of community.
Donation at the Grand Bassam Girl Orphanage (June 10, 2019)
In June 2019, we took a trip to Grand Bassam to visit the girls at the local orphanage. It was a simple, heartfelt day spent sharing gifts and connecting.
Where It Happened:
Grand Bassam, Côte d'Ivoire
What Happened: We brought gifts and snacks to the girls, spent time together, and shared a few moments of joy. The trip was emotional, and though we left with heavy hearts, we felt grateful for the connection and the difference we made that day.
These events are just a few examples of how we’ve tried to make an impact. Each one is a reminder of the importance of giving back, of showing up for each other, and of how small acts of kindness can create ripples of change. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we look forward to continuing this work for many years to come.
